What if Fruits Trees...

Fruit fresh from the tree are very nutritional
What If:
Each city or town in every country gave a fruit tree to all residents that had the space to plant it?
Suggestions:
Often cities around the globe distribute trees to help beautify their city. This is a very good idea. Suppose the approach is changed slightly, and fruit trees are offered as an alternative on one specific year. I am not talking about crab apple trees that have very little food value unless you like to make jam or bake pies, but rather, more useful fruit trees that could start to mature and yield fruit within two to three years.
Every climate and region is different, so the various governments and/or the people would have to get together to coordinate and spearhead the project. Obviously each expanse lies within different weather zones so every country would recommend and distribute unique trees to that specific environment. Each region will know what tree does best where, and in what type of soil, when they distribute the trees.
The fruit trees suggested would be varieties such as; various apple tree variations (Granny Smith, Macintosh, Delicious, Spartan, Empire etc.), peach trees, apricot trees, loquat trees, plum trees, pear trees, orange trees, lemon trees, banana trees, persimmons trees, mango trees and so on. The idea is to take one year, coordinate all the people, and plant fruit trees that can be harvested when they mature all over the world.
If the fruit trees are required to be cross-pollinated to bear fruit, then some trees need to be distributed in groups so they are near each other when they are planted. That would be up to the organizing committee.
This kind of project could be done every five years to ensure there are always sufficient fruit available for people and that the fruit trees will be replaced should they not live past a certain age for any given reason.
