Sky Angel

Imagine flying like an angel
A good place for this meditation is outside. Here you can visualize what is needed to let your imagination loose.
Find a nice little piece of heaven in an open field, where you can see the sky, and place a blanket down on the ground. Get yourself comfortable and gaze skyward.
As you look into the heavens calm yourself down from your busy day by relaxing each and every part of your body. Calmly command your toes, feet, ankles, knees and legs to relax. As you do, slow the breathing down and take in longer, deep breaths. Ask the upper body to follow suit and relax your fingers, hands, elbows, arms, chest, shoulders and stomach. Once you have calmed most of your body down, slowly ease your head into joining them by relaxing your ears, nose, mouth and finally slowly closing your eyes while you gaze upward into the bright
beautiful sky.
With your eyes closed you feel relaxed while breathing deeply; every part of your body feels sublime. Your imagination starts to soar and you see yourself pointing into the sky at the clouds above. Without realizing it, you begin to lift off the ground, as if the action of your arm thrust you skyward. The momentum takes you to the tree tops, before you realize what is happening. Looking down, you carefully lower yourself to the ground.
Back on the ground you open your eyes, and marvel at the experience. Smiling to yourself on the ground, once again you close your eyes hoping to repeat it.
Confidently this time you raise your arms to the sky and take off into it. Instinctively, you slow down over the tree tops and look around three hundred and sixty degrees. Two people you recognize are walking not far away, you slip behind the tree so they don’t see you flying in the air. However, you realize they must have seen you if they could because you were clear and visible above the tree right in front of them.

Slowly rising into the air again you reach about one hundred feet. The bustling activities from the people below show them going about their busy
day. Moving forward in flight you abruptly stop and notice white wings on either side of you come into view for a moment. Looking over your shoulder reveals a beautiful set of white angel wings and they are attached to you! You flutter them like birds wings, which brings you happiness. |

Like learning to ride a bicycle again after many years, within moments you are twisting and turning in the air like a diver would off a platform towards a pool. The freedom is exhilarating as you manoeuvre in every conceivable direction until you thrust upwards towards the sun.
Blasting through some fluffy cotton batten clouds is effortless; dashing in and out of them brings a marvelous feeling, the freedom unbelievable. Catching a wind current you swirl downwards - like a seagull does – casually enjoying the view. Your angel wings stretch as you descend, the feeling is astounding. Slowly you come back towards the treetops when you change directions and fly directly towards the two people seen on the street a few moments ago. As you approach, you confidently spread your wings to rise just above their heads, watching a breeze catch their hair as you do. The two stop for a moment wondering where the gust of wind has come from, but they continue on their journey.
Flying as if you were meant to, you rush towards the trees and spread your wings gliding and rising above and below them, stopping to change directions every so often. Once again rising towards the sun, you watch as the houses become smaller and smaller as you ascend. It’s then that you realize that what seems to be large problems in your physical existence are really just small concerns that need to be dealt with. Like a raven glides in the wind, you swirl effortlessly towards your physical body and enter it gently.
Back on the ground, you open your eyes and awaken with a new perspective on life. Suddenly large problems seem small or not complications at all. Rising off the blanket, the superb feeling of the wings and flying like an angel still seems to keep you in an alpha state.
As you go back towards your house, a breeze blows by your head when their appears to be no wind at all outside; just like the breeze you caused when you were meditating and visualizing yourself as an angel when you flew by those people.
When you enter the house, a white figure appears at the corner of your eyes for a split second. As you look it disappears and you can’t believe your eyes. A white feather swirls
slowly towards the floor. Your hand reaches out to handle it gently. After catching it, you cup it in your hands marvelling at the feather and you wonder if the angel in the sky was a dream or really you.
