Waves in the Tub

Imagining is fun in the tub
When you live in a northern climate there are times when you look outside and it appears so cold you seriously wonder if it will ever get hot again.
To beat the feeling, bring some nice tea candles into the bathroom where your bathtub is, and set them up on a spot where they will flicker, but won't bother you. Pamper yourself and set up
your bathrobe, grab the nicest towel, light the
candles and turn off the lights. Draw the bath at a nice slow speed, so the tub does not fill up too fast. Now discard your garments and slide into the tub and begin to relax sitting comfortably. Slowly close your eyes focusing on the sound
of the trickling water.
As the tub begins to slowly fill up, shift your thoughts to a time in the summer where you are at the beach. Breathe deeply as you start to hear the sound of seagulls in the distance. You can hear them getting closer, and feel their presence very near. You begin to hear a number of different seagulls both near and far adding depth to the scene.
The sound of the waves starts to fill your senses. The water is rough, and the sound of the beach brings you into a more relaxed alpha state. Feel the wind caress your hair as you keep your eyes closed and visualize it. The surf hitting the shore caresses the very inner core of your being and you find yourself in a very happy state of mind.
This goes on for a few more moments when the sound of a child's voice appears. At first it is faint, and then a number of children laughing fills your senses. You begin to smile imagining your children laughing and having the time of their lives playing on the beach.

Meanhwhile the feeling of the hot sun massaging your body starts to feel delicious. You wiggle your toes in the sand and grab some in your hands feeling it go through your hands. You do so passionately, and imagine digging your feet into the sand and having them completely covered with warmth. You smile and feel like a child as you run the sand through your hands over and over again.

Suddenly you feel yourself take off like a bird.
High above the surf you take the form of a Sea Osprey flying effortlessly and majestically scanning the ocean. You spot a number of dolphins playing in the waves, jumping out of the water and back in, on the other side of the waves. Soaring far above the ocean you have never felt so free. Riding the wind currents and gliding back and forth you spot a school of small fish. You crave to dive towards the fish and take a position above them. As you start the dive towards the fish you slowly open your eyes to see the water in the tub has reached the top.
Methodically you reach for the taps with your toes and turn them off. Smiling and running your hands through the water, you settle back down and use your hands to make soft ripples along the surface. Looking around the bathroom the candles flicker creating a beautiful ambience. The time went by beautifully and you have managed to forget it is very cold and snowing outside.
After an hour you release the drain in the tub and slowly get out of it. Gently you reach for your favourite soft towel and start to dry your body off. Looking in the mirror as you dry off,
there is a relaxing glow about you not seen in months.
Smiling knowingly to yourself you leave the bathroom totally relaxed and looking forward to the best nights sleep you will have in years.
