The Canoe

Canoeing on a lake
Softly and quietly gliding through the water
It brings peace and tranquility to the soul
This day is unusually hotter
As the sun starts to take its toll
A soft dip of the paddle
And you are on your way
Watching the ducks waddle
Makes you want to stop and stay
A glance on the lake
Shows an abundance of life
Fish swimming, some big enough to bake
They will not believe the size, not even your wife
Birds flying and bees buzzing in the trees
Grabs your attention towards the flowers
Watching them get busy in the leaves
Before you know it, gives you a special kind of power
Softly you paddle along
And listen to the paddle splash
Making sounds while singing a song
And not being brash
Canoeing around a point
There goes a Canada goose
You start liking this joint
But are startled, by the sight of a moose
The moose makes a loud sound
Startled, you start to crouch
It leaves the water and saunters on the ground
Before you realize it you are acting like a mouse
You laugh before you cry
The moose is very big
Then you let out a large, very happy sigh
As it moves off into the distance making sounds, breaking twigs
Once again you start to relax
Gliding through the current
The speed picks up and you start making tracks
And remembering what you learnt
As you approach the dock
This experience you will always remember
You pass by a beautiful, large rock
And pull up your canoe, on that special day in September
It brings peace and tranquility to the soul
This day is unusually hotter
As the sun starts to take its toll
A soft dip of the paddle
And you are on your way
Watching the ducks waddle
Makes you want to stop and stay
A glance on the lake
Shows an abundance of life
