Spirituality in Music

Music is enchanting
One of the sweetest resonances for people is the
sound of music. Tastes vary around the world, but everyone loves sound in one form or another. Whether it’s the melodies, the guitar strings, the sound of the piano or the beat that drives the song, the melody is uplifting and relaxing to listen to.
Music is a medium used to reach people. When folks entertain, have a party, or unwind after work music is almost always a constant to help people ponder better times and enjoy the moment.
Taste in music is personal. What appeals to one person, does not necessarily appeal to another. Age is also an important factor. Popular songs played often on the radio interest’s the younger generation, and thus middle aged and older folks usually listen to tunes that were played in their era. It does not matter whether it’s; rock, classic rock, disco, dance, mamba, classical, opera, jazz, the blues or any other type of music you can think of, if it moves you play it!
This section deals with music that not only sounds good -and has been popular at one point or another in time - but also focuses, like a laser beam, on the lyrics.
Lyrics are what the song writer has built the music around. Some songs have messages in them. Many of these communications are passed over and not picked up by the people listening to them. This happened to me for many years. I would listen to the same song, usually focusing on the drums, or the guitar, or the beat and only sing along with the chorus. Some songs I would try to interpret but my mind wasn’t ready. Now, songs that just used to sound good also contain spiritual messages. The songs in this section are summarized to reveal what the lyrics are intending to reveal.
My hope is they uncover new messages and enrich the music we have all loved through the years even more, and at the same time enhance our lives.
Next time you spin these songs they may have new meaning to you.
