Silence is Golden

Sometimes it's good to have alone time
There is an old saying passed down through the ages, one perhaps misunderstood by the many and understood by the few. “Silence is golden” is meant as a retreat to go back into oneself, not as an offensive saying to keep another person from speaking; it is a way to listen to your intuition and connect with the higher self and all-that-is.
Further investigation of the significance of this truism - which has become a cliché in modern times – suggests the meaning of “silence is golden” is to still your mind and find a place of refuge to connect with and get closer to god. It is a way to connect with your divine self by shutting off the chatterbox called your mind. It takes discipline and practice to achieve this state of mind. To be at peace with oneself is to drown out and suppress the ego enough so the mind does not ramble on with daily dramas and concerns.
One of the worst places to be for this is a place of worship where gossip, ego and constant distractions are on full display. It is true churches and religions have built grand structures for places of worship, but the truth is anywhere will do to connect with the creator. This is not what they would wish you to believe, because they need moral and monetary support to justify the large assemblies in which the public has paid for and they have built.
A gathering of many people in one place to pray to god is a good idea on the external. However, in reality it is very distracting should one wish to meditate, pray or affirm with other people around. Each religion has their own agenda which they push on the masses as the correct way to approach contact with god. An individual has the right to pray and get close to god anywhere they want. There are no rules our creator has laid forth for this, therefore any man made rules do not apply.

One of the best places to connect to god is in nature, with very little to no people around. The sound of the wind, the smell of the country, the songs of the birds all contribute to being in a place where peace of mind can be sought. Here there are no distractions and expectations placed upon you by other people, only the soft sights, sounds and fragrance of mother earth.

Being alone with nature is a tonic many people need to reconnect to their inner self. Once this has been achieved then eventually being around busy folks becomes easier to cope with because inner strength has been gained. This will result in the light within radiating for other people to see and thus becoming a living example for other people to follow. It will not be long before questions start about the calmness and patience one displays therefore encouraging people to follow the same path.
Silence is indeed golden and will bring much inspiration and happiness when people start to seek it and get enough of it in their busy life. Look to nature and god for answers because they have all the solutions in the universe.
