Mother Earth and Big Oil

Mother earth is supposed to be pristine
Every day new ideas come to the minds of people all across this planet. Many of the concepts that come forth have the ability to improve the quality of life for all folks, and make this earth a better place in which to live.
In the twentieth century man went from riding a horse for transportation to flying in the air with large machines capable of carrying people and items great distances. In World War One trench warfare was common, and the plane was
introduced. In World War Two the plane was the key to victory, for owning the skies meant domination, as the war ended jets were introduced. As the modern age approached jets went faster and faster and man landed on the moon. Now a space station orbits the planet, and space travel is soon to come.
The chronology above suggests man has accomplished great feats and is now ready for
the stars. Yet, somehow despite all those great achievements oil is still used as the primary source of power. How can this be possible when we went from the horse to the space station?
Since the 1800’s, oil has been pumped from the ground for various purposes. It was even discovered well before that by China and extracted using bamboo poles. Oil has been around for a long, long time. It stands to reason that sometime in the last two hundred years that someone came up with a better, cleaner and alternative energy source of some kind.
Solar power seems to be the best option, as it’s friendly to the earth and harnesses the power of the sun. The drawback is it is still expensive to get the units installed, however, any excess power earned will allow it to go back to the grid. This technology would likely pay for itself within a decade if owners could afford to buy it.
Wind Turbines are another option, but they are unsightly, create much noise and are dangerous to birds. However, they too also provide an alternative source of energy. Electric options are available, such as the electric car, but they rely on batteries which have a small range and are not earth friendly.
Ethanol is an organic option that should make oil obsolete. Ethanol is a grain alcohol that is a renewable resource; therefore it is friendly to the planet. It has been used for years, even in formula one racing cars, but it has only trickled into the market.
Why is oil still dominant in the world today? What reason could man have to rape mother earth of a precious resource that is likely meant to stay under the ground? The answer lies within the words; greed, corruption, control, power and money.
Ethanol would be widely available today for every mode of power, transportation and any
other use it would have if big oil could control it and charge a premium price for it. However they cannot. They have been buying farms at an alarming rate in an attempt to control the industry, however that’s not working. Ethanol may not be the answer; what the earth really requires is regeneration. Essentially what that means is less man and more nature. So making more farms fields to produce a new fuel in counterproductive to what is required by Mother Nature. It would be negligent to mention that the farm fields that exist today should be used to feed the population of the world, not for an alternative fuel so rich people can get richer.
Man has alternatives right now to oil as suggested above. There is also a strong possibility that there are far better sources of power available but they are not being released to the market because big oil cannot control it. This results in a suppression of the new product.
Extracting oil destroys the environment. The equipment used is not earth friendly. The land
and water become contaminated and mother earth grows more impatient with the fleas on her surface bothering her. On top of that, our leaders either run pipelines, or propose to run oil pipelines through pristine areas of nature; this despite the fact that one study after another have shown the impact to be extremely negative, on the people, the animals and the environment.

Our elected “leaders” make the decisions for the people. How about investing in some optimism and bringing some of these great ideas hidden from us forth? If they truly care about the people then it would be so, but since many of them don’t, this is the result set we are left with.

Oil has been dominant for far too long. It’s dirty; it destroys the environment and wrecks our planet. Man needs to go forward, not backwards, and leave oil where they found it. New ideas must be allowed to come forth so the children of the planet can have a great future. The planet itself, cannot sustain this abuse by man. Jobs can be created in alternate fields to offer a clean energy that does not require destroying the sublime nature mother earth has to offer.
Big oil has had their run. The lobbyists, government officials, companies and individuals responsible for this archaic way of thinking need to step aside.
Wars are started and people are murdered every day on this earth in the pursuit of controlling this substance. If an alternative energy available anywhere emerged, it would result with peace on earth. There would be no requirement to control a certain area because the entire earth could provide it. This would result in war machines becoming obsolete, which would also result in people and cultures uniting under the banner of love.
The people in power would be no more. New election systems would arise and the people would choose exactly who they wanted, not someone a lobbyist has selected. Money would not be the primary source of motivation any longer, especially if a new power emerged, for people would be able to follow their soul’s purpose in life, and not work to keep a plastic society afloat. The people of the planet would feel like children again, because they would be free to do as they wish. Most importantly, for mother earth, she could renew herself and thus offer the pristine environment meant for ALL life forms on this planet.
The time for change has come. The people of earth and the planet itself have reached a breaking point. Let us operate out of love and joy to make this a peaceful planet, and leave the world of fear in the dust.
