Every Breathe You Take

Sting and The Police are very talented
In 1977 a dynamic band named The Police formed a three piece group. Their music, very unique in nature, has an interesting driving sound that mixes jazz and reggae with a fascinating blend of rock. The multi-talented Sting, with his strong voice, led the band to many popular hits.
One of those hits has a spiritual message in it, one that is not so obvious at first listen; the song is called “Every Breathe You Take” and it appears to be a unique point of view from the higher self regarding their lower self.
The first verse indicates that the higher self knows absolutely everything about their lower self; every move they make, every breath they take, every bond they break demonstrates the absolute knowing and accuracy the higher self has of the lower self. The lower self, which is the conscious person in the material world on earth, is being watched very closely in life’s interactions by the higher self, or if you prefer, over soul. Even every step taken is watched over by the higher self-indicating they are very interested in the behaviour of the lower self in their chosen role in society, after all the higher self sent them here to begin with.
In the second verse, the higher self gives more details of the relationship indicating that not a single day will go by without the watchful eye; in fact all actions are looked over including each and every word that is uttered by the conscious being on earth. This attention to details given by the higher self suggests that what is taking place on the planet has an intricate effect on the higher self.
The second part of the second verse suggests that games that are played, literally and figuratively, are also of interest to the over soul in the game of life. The higher self gives themselves away with the lyrics “every night you stay”; because in essence they are revealing they will always be watching the life of the lower self, right up until their last moment on earth. This advocates that every single moment of a person’s life is being watched by their higher self whether they are aware of it or not; a rather comforting thought indeed.

The third verse, often mistaken for three lines of love lyrics between people, is actually the aching the higher self has for the lower self. They love their lower self so much, they virtually live with them through all the good times and bad times in their earth life, and thus feel with them every step of the way. They even reveal that their heart aches with every step they take suggesting an astounding love and connection between them.

The fourth verse goes back to indicating the over soul is watching all their day-to-day activities with interest. The higher self appears to indicate that the lower self is being deceitful by faking smiles, making false claims and breaking vows, demonstrating that they have lost the higher self’s ear. At this point of the lyrics in the song, the
possibility exists that the ego of the lower self may be dominating in the conscious being on earth during this time, resulting in the higher self not getting through via intuition.
The fifth verse suggests that the higher self misses the lower self and at times can only see the lower self's face through dreams. This may be because the lower self has become lost in the chaotic, materialistic shuffle of life and are feeling the tremendous pressures of life on earth, making the wrong decisions, such as; breaking vows and playing the game of deceit, which has left them with regrets. In essence the ego has cut off the connection to the higher self, leaving the higher self feeling cold and longing for their lower self's embrace. The over soul breaks down and cries because of the one thing they cannot replace, and that's a part of themselves.
The higher self ends the song with the lyrics repeating that every move they make, every vow they break and every claim they stake they will be watching over them; hoping to re-establish a connection with their lower self.
The song, "Every Breathe You Take" suggests that no matter how low in the emotional scale of life the lower self goes, the higher self is there every step of the way. If there were a sixth verse, and the lower self improved their outlook on life, it’s fair to say the connection would be restored to the over soul, and life would be good again on the earth plane because the emotional scale would once again be positive and intuition could again be accessed.
Lyrics to Every Breathe You Take:
Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
I'll be watching you
Every single day
Every word you say
Every game you play
Every night you stay
I'll be watching you
O can't you see
You belong to me
How my poor heart aches with every step you take
Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
I'll be watching you
Since you've gone I
been lost without a trace
I dream at night I can only see your face
I look around but it's you I can't replace
I feel so cold and I long for your embrace
I keep crying baby, baby please
Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
I'll be watching you
