Competition versus Cooperation

Cooperation and the human spirit
Most people work hard in their day to day life. Since we were children we have been taught - thus have integrated beliefs - we should reach for something better and better in life to obtain higher positions wherever we are, in order to achieve any goal. As you become an adult, it becomes clear cooperation takes a back seat
to competition if one is to obtain a better living. It gets to the point where the mind has been conditioned that in order to “succeed” one may have to step on someone else, or many people and “play the game”, to obtain the desired result. Sure teamwork and cooperation are used as props along the way, but people who go by these core values usually end up getting burned in the end.
This behavior is a spiritual disconnect because it plants the seeds of lower emotions, such as; distrust, greed, envy, jealousy, revenge and hatred. In short, competition may have been born of good intentions in order to bring out the best in an individual; however it has resulted in the reverse happening in the majority of circumstances.
Cooperation is a positive action used in the right context. It suggests sharing and collaborating for the common good. Competition in modern times is akin to winning a race, it does not matter how you do it, just win. This is where ethics come into question. You see this evidence in every walk of life, such as; business, education, politics, religion, professional sports, and amateur sports where in the Olympics people will try to win at all costs via plagiarism. The root cause is money, success and competition.
Capitalism is all about competition and not cooperation, thus the reason it has failed and done so miserably. Capitalism is all about capitalizing against the competition for profit.
Millions of people are starving in the world, yet there is enough to go around. The media
conditions folks to believe there is not enough to go around. Phrases such as, “survival of the fittest” are spoken nonchalantly without much thought in TV adds, news casts and so on. With these types of sayings one would believe we are some kind of caveman race and are physically against each other and the survivor is the “winner” when the dust settles. This phrase is a result of competition.
Hollywood plays on this mentality with one violent movie after another. With the exception of movies with a message, such as the Lord of the Rings trilogy, most are senseless violent visualizations deliberately ingrained on the subconscious mind when you leave the theater.
Competition has brought out the worst in man, and therefore monopolies have risen along with giant corporations, constricting government legislation, lying politicians, and so on, and thus survival of the fittest has indeed transformed a civilized society into an uncaring, non-cooperative one

The phrase “piece of the pie” is also based on competition, because it suggests there is only so much to go around. How on earth did food get used as an analogy for business? Likely Pie charts is the answer, never-the-less, there is plenty to go around it is just totally mismanaged by the people who have the power to manage it.

People are not meant to compete for the basic necessities and rights of life. We came to this planet to live a happy life filled with cooperation and creativity, to experience new things, not to be suppressed into submission.
The best way right now out of this conditioned mind set is to start being a better person. Helping people any way you can, whether it’s assisting someone across the street, carrying bags for an older person, shoveling someone else’s driveway, holding a door open to allow someone to pass through, donating money if you can afford it, all of which will result in the mass consciousness rising on the planet.
If you are asked to compete for some reason, do it with the intention all parties will benefit.
If everyone in the world started doing this, the world would be a better place in which to live, because it would change the mindset from competition to cooperation. This would have a large impact on everyone and everything, thus raising our vibration to one of a peaceful planet. Try it! You may be surprised on how good you feel inside when you do!
